London No Trousers Day – Stag Night Idea

As you may have read in the papers, international no trousers day was celebrated on Sunday 8th of January. In London, around 300 participants left their trousers at Trafalgar Square and went for a two-hour long tube ride followed by a night of trouserless drinking at Soho’s Verve Bar (known as the Pants Party).

Of course, the List of Life office team were in on the action, wearing our best suits and ties; while relaxing and meeting the other participants at the end of the day, we met a group on a stag party – earlier in the day, a very confused groom-to-be was told to meet his friends on the northbound Bakerloo line at Edgware.

At around 4pm, a train which was full of trouserless commuters arrived, and assuming this was part of his friends’ plan, he quickly removed his pants and joined the tour – it wasn’t until later that he found out that his mates knew nothing about no-trousers day, and were all on a hunt around the tube to find him (only the best man knew where he was supposed to be). It all turned out ok in the end – the whole group eventually found the groom-to-be at Verve, and when we left them, they were planning to try to go clubbing trouserless.

Maybe a game of hide-and-seek in the tube, or a tour around London without an item of clothing is a good idea for the stag do you’re organising? No trousers day is only held once a year, but the group who organised the London journey, The Stiff Upper Lip Society organises other random events throughout the year – it’s definitely worth a look if you’re after a unique activity to get the big night started.
